Family Service Morning

We usually have Family Home Evening but we decided to have a family service morning instead.
So here's everyone holding envelopes....and you ask how come?
Have you ever had one of those days that just isn't going too well, Then someone holds a door open for you or says "Hello" or comments that they love your shirt (even though you know that it's stained and ugly) or just smiles at you.
That 1 small gesture can make you have a change of heart. It can make your bad day into something amazing. So we decided to do that today. We each had a card that said "Have a great day" and drew a smiley face on our card. And we each included a small gift. Lily put a candy bar in her envelope. Cati put a pack of gum. Hailey and Mason attached $1. Mike and I put $5 each in our cards. And we headed to the most busiest place we could think of at 9am....Wal-Mart!

Our mission was to feel the promptings of the spirit telling us who needs this pick me up. It's alot harder than it seems. Everyone we approached give us the most weirdest looks like we were weirdos trying to sell them something. But within 5 minutes we each handed out our cards.

As we walked out of Wal-Mart I wish I took a photo of everyone's smile. It was one of those smiles that shows on your face and on your heart. It was such an amazing experience for everyone that this will surely be something we do again.

Doing service for others isn't just when they are in need of money or food. A service is also to bring happiness into someones life as well. So to my family remember you can bring a smile to someones face just by showing  them love.
