Mike's work party

Today Mike had his company party/picnic. Besides it being hot as backwards heaven we had a blast. Mike's job catered and paid for everything for this event. So that means it was completely free for us. So Lily took advantage of the free snow cones....But besides snow cones there was cotton candy, hot dogs, all sorts of salads, pulled pork sandwiches, fruits, ice cream, brownies, chips and tons of cold drinks.

We decided to eat first. The food was really yummy....!!!!!

Then after our food was done we were off to go play. We first went to the West Jordan fire truck that was going to spray people down since it was so hot....that was way fun..... Mike and the kids waiting for the water

See Mike and the kids still sitting on the grass when the water came...The fire dept. used a tank of water on us. It didn't last more than 15 minutes. So imagine how much water they have to use on a real fire?....no wonder we're in a drought. But here's Mason soaking wet. He loved running through the water just not the after effect of having his clothes stick to him.Lily and I loved it! We were soaking wet that we dripped where ever we went. (Lily looks just like Mike)And Hailey escaped from the water hose....she doesn't even have a drop of water on her. She must of been road-runner fast!

Next on the agenda was pony rides....

After a few times around with her tiny pony Lily started to kick her feet and have a big o'grin on her face. Mason just went along with it since he was out numbered by his sisters....but he's such a good sport.

Hailey absolutely loved her ride. She would keep petting her pony and talking softly to it. I think this girl has gone country.

Then we went back to the fire truck so Mason could get a good look at it since one day he says he wants to be a fireman. He even got to push the siren. Here they are inside the fire truck where the EMT's work.

Then the kids got painted. Mason wanted a crocodile on his arm.

Hailey was so interested in her picture she kept leaning forward to see what the lady was doing. Here's the after photo. Hailey with her beautiful butterfly and Mason with his mean crocodile. They don't paint on kids under 1 years old so Lily got left out on this event. This lady was making balloon animals/stuff for the kids. Mason wanted a T-Rex. But she warned everyone that the balloons will pop if they touch the grass. So 5 minutes later his balloon popped on the grass. Oh well.... listen to her next time buddy. Hailey got a sword that she was able to keep alive during the rest of the picnic until the very last minute. There was some inflatable balloon bouncers near by that the kids wanted to play on. But due to the heat we only let them play on them for a few minutes. But in those few minutes Mason managed to fall out of the bouncer and trap himself in the net for a minute or two. He was able to get himself out of it but we laughed at him so much afterwards. Silly boy! Here's a picture of the live band that performed at the picnic. They really sucked!! I never heard more depressing music in my life. They played songs about death, heart break, losing yourself, etc. I'd like to know who hired the funeral band for a family picnic?

Let me explain this part ....There was a dunking booth at the picnic so people can dunk the managers but since the heat was getting to some people the operator opened it up to anyone who wanted to be dunked. So Mike of course took advantage of that.

Mike was sitting there so smug...thinking the kids couldn't get him dunked. Both Mason and Hailey got him good. He went right in both times. HA HA!!Good job kids....you guys got dad good!!Mason wanted to try the rock wall. But everywhere we go he always wants to try the wall but never gets more than 5 feet off the ground before he freezes up. He said this time would be different...but as you can see history repeated itself.

By this time Lily needed a nap so we chillaxed on some shady grass.

She actually fell asleep with her hands outward and her leg flexed in the the air. Maybe she's part canine? But we used the next 20 minutes for her nap to listen to a rally drawing which he didn't win a big TV or a new grill but Mike did win a date with me for next years party.....he's so lucky!!!
