Hogle Zoo

Today the whole gang went to the zoo. It wasn't a pretty start for us. Hailey got her 1st bee sting and of course I wanted to capture this very special moment. Especially since I never been stung.

But after some cuddles from Mike and I AND a bribe of a new hat from the gift shop she was in good spirits again.
Mike and I took a lot of pictures. So enjoy our zoo adventure. Sorry too many photo to add captions to everyone of them.

The bird show:
Here's the gang...they're mostly seated on the bottom row but Mike, Lily and I sat on the second row. (mike not pictured. Someone had to take the photo)Lily's really excited to see the birds!

I feel I need to explain this part. It started to rain while we were at the zoo. And only Mike was prepared with 1 umbrella. Good job babe but there's 5 in our family...so as you can see since he remembered to pack it he got it and Lily since she's the baby got dibs too.
But it eventually started raining really hard that we needed to find some shelter until the summer storm passed. So everyone ran to the elephant encounter house and waited but..... I guess Mike and Jerome got bored and I don't know who thought of this crazy idea but they decided to race in the pouring rain to a cotton candy vendor cart across the way, unwrap the cotton candy, then race back to the elephant house and whoever had the most candy left on his stick was called the WINNER!!! I don't know who really won since Mike took a bite out of his treat before we could all judge....but a wife sticks by her husband so I say Mike won.And believe it or not but Mike's never made out in the rain....so of course we ceased this opportunity.
But after 5 hours at the zoo we decided to leave but after ...rain and shine....stings and smiles...we all had a great time.
