The Lassig's are in Connecticut

That's right we went to Connecticut. Mike' s dad lives in Hartford with his family so we headed to CT to meet everyone and to introduce Lily to her Grandpa Brent and Grandma Patty. By the time we landed and got to Brent and Patty's house it was 1am so we just went to bed and waited for the next day to meet everyone.

However since Brent was the one to pick us up from the airport he met Lily first and I have to admit I think he fell in love with her. Later that morning when we woke up we wanted to run a quick errand but since we had no car Brent cautiously let us borrow his Buick. We were so excited. Especially Mike.....He had this perma-grin the whole time we drove down the block. And of course he wanted me to make sure I had tons of pictures of him next to this sweet ride.

And what was this important errand that Mike's dad let us use his car?

It was a donut run. But not any ordinary donut but the King of all donuts. Dunkin Donuts!!! I love these donuts even more than Crispy Cremes. They win by a long shot in our book.

How can anyone resist there signature Dunkin Delight? We sure couldn't.And neither could Lily. She just drove right into the apple and spice powdered donut. She even made the cutest animal eating noises. Sorry but I didn't record them. After our donut run and the safe parking of Brent's car Mike, Lily and I sat and watched a movie until everyone came home. Here is Patty on the right with her 2 kids Nina with Lily and Neil. We were really excited to meet everyone. They made us fell right at home. Thanks :-)

After the meet and greet we all debated where to go to dinner then finally we decided on U.S.S. Chowder Pot. Brent says it's the best place to get the New England feel. And he was right.Plus we just couldn't live with ourselves if we traveled to the east coast and didn't eat fresh seafood. So Mike, Lily, and me ordered some orginial New England Clam Chowder. It was so gooooodd!!! I can't even explain how it tasted. Just know you should be jealous. Then for our meal we ordered lobster. Mike never had lobster before so I had to take a picture of his first bite of it. Here he is with his mouth full of lobster. You can tell he enjoyed it.Then even though we were stuff we had to order dessert. This was on the menu and it looked/sounded delicious. It's a lemon sorbet inside a chilled lemon topped with whip cream. It may not sound fancy but it tasted so good. Thanks Brent that was by far the best seafood dinner I have ever had.

After we ate we all went on a joy ride to downtown Hartford. Patty is so informed on the history of Hartford. She was our own personal tour guide. It was a lot of fun. But we headed home early since tomorrow we had some big plans.
